Douala Urban Mobility Project

摘要*

The development objective of Douala Urban Mobility Project for Cameroon is to improve urban mobility and support inclusive urban and economic development along selected Bus Rapid Transit corridors and its feeder lines in Douala. This project has five components. 1) The first component, Support to institutional strengthening and professionalization of existing public transport operators, aims to finance associated works, services, and goods for the following activities in support of institutional reform and regulatory strengthening, professionalization of formal and informal operators. 2) The second component, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) infrastructure facilities, systems, and rolling stock, will finance associated works, services, and goods. 3) The third component, Transit-Oriented Development around the BRT system, has the following sub-components: (i) Road and non-motorized infrastructure improvements along feeder roads; and (ii) Corridor Development Strategy and public space improvements around BRT stations. 4) The fourth component, Project management and capacity building, finance services and goods for Project management costs, Capacity building and TA for the PIU, and Technical support to the PIU for components 2 and 3. 5) The fifth component, Contingent Emergency Response (CERC), provides an immediate and effective response in the event of an eligible crisis or emergency.
